GBCSA’s Lisa Reynolds and Georgina Smit share with us their thoughts on the Transforming Tomorrow New Build v2 tool, its significance, an overview of the process so far and when it will launch.
The groundswell of sustainable development is rapidly gaining pace with providers of capital and regulators increasingly emphasising the transition from carbon intensive resources.
Georgina Smit is Head of Technical at the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA). She oversees certification and research-related products that drive the property sector to design, build and operate buildings in a more sustainable way.
”15 years is a wonderful milestone!” ”When I look back to our first meetings, our first Green Star course and our first Convention, GBCSA has come a long way, and it’s wonderful to see it stronger than ever.”- Bruce Kerswill, GBCSA Founding Chair
By Brian Unsted, Liberty Two Degrees Asset Management Executive and Head of Good Spaces “There’s a debate raging as to whether Net Zero Waste is attainable. It starts with challenging ourselves as individuals and as organisations to change habits relating to dealing with waste.”
At the GBCSA’s recent annual general meeting on 22 July, CEO Lisa Reynolds outlined the organisations strategy and how it aims to become more agile and responsive to the needs of members, while playing a leading role in broader sustainability discussions and projects.
