About the Workshop

This half day session gives further insight and detail into the workings and benefits of EDGE certification

What does an EDGE Auditor do?

The EDGE Auditor reviews project documentation, verifies compliance with EDGE requirements, provides a rigorous check (audit) of the project submission, and recommends the project for assessment to the GBCSA. The audit includes site inspections and obtaining photographs of the compliant measures and undertaking on-site testing’s for post-construction certification once the project is under construction or complete.

Property Developers, Banks, Investors, Real Estate Agents, Architects, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers, Contractors, Sustainability Consultants, Students and anyone else involved in the design and construction of residential projects in South Africa.

What does the EDGE Auditor training cover?

This course builds on the EDGE Expert training and addresses the details involved in the submission, recommendation and certification of projects undergoing EDGE certification. Details regarding preliminary and final audit requirements are covered and aligned with GBCSA review and assessment criteria.

Workshop Format

Hosted by the Green Building Council South Africa and a qualified faculty member who holds the expertise of applying this rating tool to the certification of a building, this full day session includes an introduction to the Green Building Council, outlines what we do and then dives into the rating tool, the categories and measures. After lunch we spend some time working through group exercises that offer participants a deeper understanding of the application of the tool.
