Accredited Professional (AP)

Industry professionals who want to reflect the realities of a changing world in their working life are entitled to complete a GBCSA Accredited Professional program in their chosen specialisation

Individuals should have either two years’ experience in the construction industry, and a higher education qualification, or a recognised tertiary qualification, or be a current APc.

Typical construction industry roles include, but are not limited to: Architect, Architectural Technologist, Building Surveyor, Civil Engineer, Contracts Manager, Contractor, Construction Manager, Developer, Electrical Engineer, Energy/ Environmental Engineer, Facilities Manager, Mechanical Engineer, Planner, Procurement and Contracts Management, Quantity Surveyor, Site Engineer, Site Manager, Skilled Tradesperson, Structural Engineer.

Individuals can qualify as APs in these specialisations:  New Build, Existing Building Performance, Interiors, Sustainable Urban Precincts, and Net Zero.

These programs provide significant exposure to the GBCSA grading and certification system of Green Star projects and are of value to all involved the green building sector.

An active status as an AP is maintained by achieving between 5 – 10 points within a 12-month cycle. New APs score 5 points by passing their exam, this allows a 12-month grace period.
