Net Zero - Accredited Professional Program

About the Program

*GBCSA has introduced Live Webinars to replace the Face to Face Workshops in order to accommodate for the new social distancing regulations.

The program provides an introduction to the GBCSA’s Net Zero rating tools that aim to achieve net zero impact in the areas of carbon, water, waste and ecology.

As a registered AP Net Zero, you will be equipped with the knowledge to guide a project team in the design and certification of a Net Zero registered project for a range of building types and be recognised as a professional with a greater understanding of environmental issues related to the built environment and property industry.

Objectives of the program are to ensure that all who attend:

  1. Gain an understanding of the importance of aiming for further reduced impacts in the design, construction and operation of green buildings
  2. Understand the Net Zero rating tool
  3. Are able to, if suitably qualified, be recognized as a Net Zero Accredited Professional

Who Should Attend

Architects, Architectural Technicians,  Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers, Contractors, Sustainability Consultants, Property Developers, Property Owners,  and anyone else involved in the design and construction of the built environment in South Africa and beyond.

Becoming an Accredited Professional

Registration as an Accredited Professional is open to all those involved in the design, construction and operation of the built environment in South Africa and beyond with suitable level of knowledge and experience of the field. Candidates will need to demonstrate relevant industry experience or tertiary level qualification in a suitable property industry related field upon request by the GBCSA in order to be recognised as a Net Zero Accredited Professional upon successful completion of the program.
