The GBCSA Hall of Fame : Andrew King

Andrew King, is a Technical Intern at the Green Building Council South Africa. His primary role is to assist the technical team to develop credible and objective measurements for green buildings as well as review certification applications and award Green Star ratings.

In parallel to this Andrew is currently completing his master’s degree in Environmental Science through Rhodes University, focusing on the economics of urban greening and the ability of green collar jobs to alleviate urban poverty.

Andrew completed his Bachelor of Science Honours in Environmental Science at Rhodes in late 2016 with the dissertation: Residential property values, urban green space dynamics and resident perspectives in Grahamstown, South Africa.

During the same year he attended several courses at the university, namely: non-timber forest products, urban forestry, and environmental water quality, as well as completing an Environmental Impact Assessment course through EOH Coastal Environmental Services. In 2015 Andrew completed his BSc in Environmental Science and Economics at Rhodes.
