Nedbank has established itself as the lead occupier of Green Star accredited buildings in South Africa (by number of buildings and square meters) and developed and occupied the first Green Star accredited building in South Africa, namely Nedbank 135 Rivonia Phase 2. As a Carbon Neutral organisation with sustainability high on the agenda, Nedbank volunteered a couple of its Campus buildings to participate in the Green Building Council of South Africa’s Existing Building Performance rating tool pilot process. Nedbank was the sponsor for developing this tool.
To date, Nedbank has achieved twelve Design and As Built ratings with another 4 in the pipeline and two Existing Building Performance ratings with two more in the pipeline. Howard has been intimately involved with all these ratings.
