The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has announced the roll-out plan for transitioning the EDGE training programme to Version 3. The roll-out, which commended on 15 February 2023 will conclude at the end of June when Version 2 of the training programme will be retired. Candidates have until the 30th of June 2023 to take the Version 2 exam. Candidates who have completed the Version 2 training, have the following options:
- Option 1: Register to take the EDGE Expert Version 2 exam by 30 June 2023.
- Option 2: Register or request a new eligibility ID to take EDGE Expert Version 3 exam after 30 June 2023. To pass this exam, candidates must study all relevant documents of EDGE Version 3.
- Option 3: All candidates in the process of taking the online EDGE Expert training course Version 2 may request free access to the Version 3 course or an extension on the deadline for the EDGE Version 2 exam beyond 30 June 2023, by writing to [email protected]. However, for those taking the Version 3 training, they will have to retake the entire course to qualify for the new exam.
IFC strongly encourages all candidates to take the Version 2 exam before the deadline to avoid any delays or possibly having to retake the Version 3 training.

GBCSA Academy will host a series of online EDGE Auditor workshops in 2023. If you are an EDGE Expert looking to grow your professional portfolio this year, please submit evidence of your qualifications.
- Certificates of higher education qualification;
- Membership in a professional organisation and the associated code of conduct;
- Up to date curriculum vitae, signed by the applicant;
- Records of relevant projects;
- Alternative evidence, which will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
