2050 will arrive in 33 quick years and by then the earth’s population is set to double, requiring a staggering 89 billion tons of natural resources per year if we do not change our ways. To cope with the pressure, urban authorities need to be prepared to learn how to adapt.
In 2018, the proportion of green buildings will climb from 2017’s 41% to 61% of all South African building project activity.
The first four projects to be certified as Net Zero (pilot) in South Africa are the Vodafone Site Solution Innovation Centre in Midrand, Gauteng; Estuaries Plaza in Century City, Cape Town; and Greenfields Industrial Park in Cape Town and Two Dam Sustainable in Montagu in the Western Cape.
